Following the totally buggin’ news that the classic Clueless would be receiving a sequel series, with Alicia Silverstone set to reprise her role as Cher, fans have been flocking in the millions to catch the rom-com once again on streaming. Thirty years after the movie’s box office debut, with the anniversary celebrated by a 4K UHD steelbook release, Clueless is still proving popular, this time on Pluto TV.
As of June 11, 2025, Clueless has joined the ranks of Pluto TV’s top 10 most-streamed titles, ranking at #10 on the platform. The rest of the list contains a smorgasbord of beloved titles, including, at #9, another new entry in Mark Wahlberg’s Shooter. At #8, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation proves popular with the latest entry in the franchise currently in theaters. Comedy classic Caddyshack is at #7, with the first installment in the Transformers franchise at #6. Christopher McQuarrie’s Jack Reacher is at #5, with Terminator: Dark Fate at #4, and Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street at #3. James Cameron’s Titanic can’t sink all its competition at #2, with the highly acclaimed horror 28 Days Later at #1 ahead of the upcoming long-awaited sequel.
For those who are spending their time re-watching Clueless, you’re not alone in your love of the movie, with Hollywood royalty agreeing with you. In a red carpet interview with Letterboxd, Nicole Kidman herself named Clueless as one of her four favorite movies, with the film joining The Piano Teacher, The Piano, and A Woman Under the Influence in her list. Clueless is the owner of a “certified fresh” 81% critics’ score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, with a 76% audience rating being anything but “Whatever.”
How Did ‘Clueless’ Perform at the Box Office?
Made for just $13.7 million, Clueless was without a doubt a box office success back in 1995. Making 4.2 times its reported budget, Clueless finished its theatrical run with a global total of $57.9 million. With $56.5 million coming from domestic theaters and just $1.3 million from overseas markets, it would take some time before Clueless became the cult global classic we all know and love today. At the 1995 box office, Clueless finished the year as the 33rd highest-grossing film in the U.S., which is an impressive feat considering it outperformed the likes of Sabrina, The Net, and Casino.
Clueless is available to stream via Pluto TV. Make sure to stay tuned to Collider for more streaming stories.
